The QuoteAndBuild Platform

QuoteAndBuild is a software platform that enables tradespeople to manage jobs, communicate with customers, issue professional documentation (quotes, invoices, and certificates), and use AI-powered diagnostic tools. The platform also allows customers to submit job requests, track job progress, and receive documentation.

QuoteAndBuild is a technology intermediary only. We are not a party to any contract for services between a tradesperson and a customer, and we are not responsible for the quality, safety, legality, or outcome of any work carried out by tradespeople using the platform.

Accounts and Registration

2.1 Tradesperson Accounts

To register as a tradesperson you must provide accurate information including your name, business details, trade, and relevant accreditation. You represent and warrant that all information provided is truthful, accurate, and current.

Tradesperson accounts are subject to verification. We reserve the right to verify your accreditation details against the relevant regulatory body (e.g. NICEIC, Gas Safe Register, NAPIT) and to suspend or terminate accounts where credentials cannot be verified or are found to be false.

2.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at info@quoteandbuild.co.uk if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account.

2.3 One Account Per Person

Each individual may hold only one tradesperson account. Accounts are non-transferable and may not be sold, assigned, or shared with any third party.

Tradesperson Obligations

By registering as a tradesperson on QuoteAndBuild, you agree to:

• —Hold all licences, registrations, and accreditations legally required to carry out the work you advertise (e.g. Gas Safe registration for gas work, NICEIC or equivalent for notifiable electrical work)
• —Carry adequate public liability insurance at all times
• —Comply with all applicable UK legislation, regulations, and codes of practice relevant to your trade, including but not limited to BS 7671, Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998, and Building Regulations
• —Only issue certificates for work you have personally inspected, tested, and completed in accordance with the relevant standard
• —Ensure all information entered into certificates, invoices, and quotes is accurate and truthful
• —Treat customers with professionalism and respect at all times
• —Not use the platform to engage in any fraudulent, deceptive, or illegal activity
• —Not use the AI diagnostic tools as a substitute for professional judgement or regulatory compliance

Certificates and Documentation

4.1 Your Responsibility

All certificates generated through QuoteAndBuild (including EICRs, Minor Works Certificates, Gas Safety Records, and all other documentation) are issued by you, the tradesperson, in your professional capacity. QuoteAndBuild provides the template and delivery mechanism only.

You are solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and legal validity of any certificate or document you issue. QuoteAndBuild accepts no liability for certificates issued incorrectly or for work carried out to an inadequate standard.

4.2 AI Diagnostic Tools

The AI-powered diagnostic features (Scan a Problem, Board Analysis) are provided as an aide to professional judgement only. They do not constitute a formal inspection, test, or assessment under any British Standard or regulation. You must apply your own professional expertise and comply with all relevant regulations regardless of any AI output.

AI tools are available to verified tradesperson accounts only and must not be used for any purpose other than supporting your professional activities on the platform.

Customer Terms

By submitting a job request through QuoteAndBuild, customers agree to:

• —Provide accurate information about the work required and the property address
• —Deal directly with the tradesperson regarding the scope, timing, and price of work
• —Understand that QuoteAndBuild is a technology platform and is not party to any service agreement between customer and tradesperson
• —Not submit false, misleading, or abusive job requests

Customers acknowledge that QuoteAndBuild does not vet, endorse, or guarantee the work of any tradesperson on the platform beyond the accreditation verification process described in these Terms.

Subscription Fees and Payments

6.1 Subscription Fees

Access to QuoteAndBuild's paid features is provided on a subscription basis. Subscription fees, billing frequency, any free-trial period, and any add-ons (such as the AI Receptionist) are shown to you before you subscribe. By subscribing, you authorise us and our payment processor, Stripe, to charge the applicable fee to your chosen payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.

We may change subscription prices from time to time. Where a price change affects your plan, we will give you reasonable advance notice by email, and the new price will apply from your next billing period. If a payment fails, we may retry it and may suspend access to paid features until payment is received.

6.2 Cancellation and Refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time from within the app (Manage Subscription) or by contacting us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you retain access to paid features until then. Except where required by law, subscription fees already paid are non-refundable and we do not provide partial refunds for unused time.

6.3 Customer Invoice Payments

QuoteAndBuild provides invoice generation and delivery tools, and an optional card-payment feature (processed by Stripe) that lets a customer pay a tradesperson's invoice online. Where this feature is used, funds are settled to the tradesperson via Stripe; the contract for the work itself remains solely between the tradesperson and the customer. QuoteAndBuild is not a party to that contract and accepts no liability for the underlying work or any payment dispute between them.

Tradespeople are solely responsible for ensuring their invoices comply with applicable tax law, including VAT requirements where applicable.

Prohibited Uses

You must not use the QuoteAndBuild platform to:

• —Carry out, facilitate, or advertise unlicensed or unregistered trade work
• —Issue false or misleading certificates or documentation
• —Harass, threaten, or abuse any other user of the platform
• —Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform or another user's account
• —Upload or transmit any malicious code, virus, or harmful content
• —Scrape, copy, or reproduce any part of the platform without our express written consent
• —Use the platform for any purpose that violates applicable law or regulation
• —Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any organisation

Breach of these prohibitions may result in immediate account suspension or termination and, where appropriate, referral to relevant regulatory authorities or law enforcement.

Intellectual Property

All software, design, trademarks, and content forming the QuoteAndBuild platform are the exclusive property of QuoteAndBuild and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the platform without our express written consent.

You retain ownership of all data you input into the platform (job records, certificates, customer details). By using the platform you grant us a limited licence to store, process, and transmit that data solely for the purpose of providing the service to you.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

• —QuoteAndBuild is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied
• —We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from security vulnerabilities
• —We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss or damage arising from your use of the platform
• —We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from work carried out by tradespeople found through the platform
• —Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the platform shall not exceed the total fees paid by you to us in the 12 months preceding the claim

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Termination

10.1 By You

You may close your account at any time by contacting us at info@quoteandbuild.co.uk. Closure of your account does not affect any obligations arising from completed transactions prior to closure.

10.2 By Us

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, if we are required to do so by law or regulation, or if we reasonably believe your use of the platform poses a risk to other users or to the integrity of the platform.

On termination, your right to access the platform ceases immediately. We will retain your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, applicable law, or business practices. When we make material changes, we will notify registered tradespeople by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the platform after that date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales for the resolution of any dispute.

Before initiating formal proceedings, we encourage you to contact us at info@quoteandbuild.co.uk to seek an informal resolution. We will use reasonable endeavours to resolve any dispute within 30 days of receiving written notice.
